The girly day out...

You already know from the other Lake's why there was a big delay from our last post, I (Amanda) would like to apologise fellow readers, potential fellow reads or whoever stumbles across this accidently.

It was my birthday on Monday, the sweet Lake's had organised a little cake fest at starbucks a week before my birthday as Emms would be unable to come. Bless her. On Monday Lalita had an interview, Tuesday was my interview day which left Wednesday as a perfectly good day to plan an outing.

Today our trip included going to this very cool arcade! Lalita, kathleen and I have discovered our awesome talent at bowling! - No matter how hard we try, our ball WILL land in the gutter! We're so bad its actually amazing. After bowling we deicded to talk a walk into two parks in London, visit the queen and have time to mess around at trafalgar square! It was lovely!

The best thing about the day was: We got FREE coffee at starbucks! how awesome is that? lol... the barister told us we could have them because they made extra cups and otherwise would need to go in the bin. So yay!

Other highlights of the day were tree climbing, lamp post molesting and funny dancing at the arcade! :D

So that was today!

I will leave you with this: Some people fly, others ooze and some seep. Whatever you do, have fun!

Guilt free just does not work anymore..

Missed me, Yes, No .. come on , make up your mind.. Oh well think about it. So as the ever so lovely lalita has filled you in on all the "why we were missing" details, you'll probabaly realise that we don't just leave internet for any small reason. It takes a big "may day" or "emergency" to unhook us to this ever lasting technology or plague ( we have reasons for that too which shall be discussed in some other texts)... So exams are over.. FINALLY.. not that there were hundreds of them (there were only 3) but they seemed to last that long.. I am pretty sure that the first time in our lives, if we manage to get crap marks, it would totally be not our fault.. we geniunly had nothing to revise from (amazing isn't it).
Now you would think what would free souls like us would do with massive useless and free time on our hands. Well my fellow readers, no wonder they say there is a God some where, because He would never risk such an abomination to occur (wow, i may be reaching lalita's level of vocabulary). you see we don't get to have holidays... because we have a placement this summer...well some of us atleast.. others are getting there slowly (and painfully because they don't like being interviewed). So anyyyyyy whooo..I hope you guys get to spend lazy summers and tell us all about it ... thats what friends are for right ?? RIGHT?? (Gosh ! i sound like the evil one)..
So until I am tied down again.. I have borrowed about 20 dvds from lalita to fill up rest of my partial freedom.. When we finished examss, we thought that the days shall be filled with sleep and the nights with fun.. but come to think of it i have seen more morning hours since exams finished than i had when exams were the next day.. So are you telling me that our souls are no longer satistfied with a guilt free fun. So what, we need some guilt to sleep in all day.. stay up on facebook all night because i certainly had more status updates when I had an exam the next day... what has the world come to ??.. watching those Dvds would have been a lot fun If i had an exam soon... I am pretty sure these movies will be a lot more tempting when we start our placement... because i certainly can't feel them calling to me noww... Just not fair is it??

"Procrastination avoids boredom: one never has the feeling that there is nothing important to do"
I guess what it means is that... the sweetest fruit wouldn't have been the most tempting if it wasn't forbidden.

The one whose missing temptation

We're back...did you miss us?

Hey people, we feel like we’ve been neglecting our blog lately, so I thought I would accept the great responsibility and post something after all this time. We know no-one reads it but we don’t care; it’s the Lake’s diary of all the amazing times we have together, so when we’re all boring and grown up, with sensible lives and jobs, we can look back and be like...yeah, we were really THAT mental! As Emily likes to remind us, books can get lost, but the internet will last forever. So we’ve been away from civilisation (the internet) lately, doing disappointingly mundane things like attempting exam revision. I say attempting, as our so-called ‘attempt’ was 10 minutes of revision, half an hour of chatting, 10 more minutes of revision and then off to Starbucks for a 3 hour lunch break before we went straight home. Fun times!

Ooh, exciting news. We are so sad, and spend so much time in Starbucks that we have officially become regulars. Amanda went in the other day, and the guy behind the counter knew her order off by heart. How cool is that? The only thing is, now she’s scared to change her order in case she upsets him. If you spend 3 hours a day, 5 days a week in Starbucks, this could happen to you too. I mean, if you want it to. Because I feel it’s my duty to warn you that it’s kind of embarrassing when you sit there so long that the Starbucks workers leave for the evening before you do, which happens to us frequently. What can I say? We have no lives.

So we had our last exam today- we had to write 3 essays in 2 hours, and I managed 2 really rubbish ones. I’m quite proud really; I knew I wasn’t going to do great things with a total revision time of about 6 hours, but I think I’ve done enough to pass the year already, so fingers crossed. Hopefully the other Lakes will be ok too, although Kathleen always seems to pull amazing grades out of the bag when she swears that she doesn’t revise. I don’t know; I think we might be hanging out with the next Einstein if that’s the case. On the other hand I also worry that she may be a psycho, since on the day of our hardest exam she was reading a book for ‘fun’ called the Gift of Fear- which is the last thing I would want. I spend all my time trying to get rid of mine! The book is by a guy called Gavin de Becker if anyone wants to check it out, but I seriously don’t recommend it, even if it does give you some insight into the twisted workings of Kathleen's inner mind (a very scary place indeed).

That’s all I got for now, if I think of anything else I will keep you posted. Until then, I would like to leave you with this thought, which the Lakes have clearly been channelling for years anyway:

Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?”- Edgar Bergen

Love,

Lalita xxx
